Project Description: Pedestrian Improvements Citywide and School and Neighborhood Pedestrian Improvements are PPRTA-funded capital programs (referred to as the Sidewalk Infill Program) that install missing sidewalk segments at various locations throughout the City of Colorado Springs.

Work to be done by the contractor shall consist of the installation of sidewalk where there is currently none. Sidewalks sections may vary in length from 10-2,500 linear feet. The City will determine the width and layout of each sidewalk. Each sidewalk installation is unique and may require additional work that may include, but not necessarily be limited to, removal and replacement of sidewalks, street cross pans, pedestrian ramps, curb and gutter, driveways, curb returns, bubblers, patterned concrete, drainage structures, and asphalt patching. This work shall include restoration of all areas disturbed by the construction activities to a condition equal to or better than the pre-construction condition, and the protection or replacement of fencing, retaining walls, landscaping, removal of obstructions, minor utility relocation and/or adjustment, grading, soil scarification, moisture control, backfill & compaction, and plantings. This work shall also include the disposal of surplus or waste materials and necessary traffic control/barricading.

Change Order 7 incorporates funding from On Street Bikeway Improvements, Roadway Safety and Traffic Operations, Citywide Safety and Traffic Operations, and Bridge Maintenance to construct safety improvements and upgrades on Cheyenne Blvd and Cheyenne Road. This work has been coordinated to all take place to support a holistic set of improvements to be completed in advance of the 2C paving scheduled for 2025.
