Project Description: The Academy Boulevard Reconstruction from Bijou Street to Airport Road (north segment) and from Fountain Boulevard to Milton E Proby Parkway (south segment) are PPRTA ‘A’ list projects. Academy Boulevard is a six-lane road with poor pavement quality and deteriorated curb, gutter, and medians requiring replacement. Poor drainage is contributing to pavement decline, so a new storm water system is being designed to alleviate ponding issues. Planned improvements incorporate a 10-foot- wide multi-use path.

The City and PPRTA awarded a contract for design services to AECOM for the Academy Blvd Reconstruction Project following the June 12, 2019, Board meeting in the amount of $1,429,187.00. There have been nine (9) previous modifications to this contract to bring the total amount of the contract to $5,072,670.00.

This change order adds engineering services for the final construction documents for the South Segment of the Academy Blvd project. The primary work categories for this change order include project management, survey, value engineering services, preparation of a revised PS&E package, and engineering support (RFI response, shop drawing and submittal review, site visits, construction meetings, etc.) for the South Segment of the Academy Blvd project.

The City requests the PPRTA Board approve a contract change order for AECOM in the amount of $374,035.00.
